Eclipsed Full Moon: Shifts in Animal + Human Energy

Heads up, readers! Time to prep for next week’s Lunar Eclipse.

On September 7th, the Pisces Full Moon arrives with a total lunar eclipse—also called a Blood Moon. It’s not just a sky show; eclipses stir the energy fields of both humans and animals.
Unfortunately, for many of us here in the U.S., the sky will be quiet that night—the Moon will already have slipped below the horizon by the time the eclipse begins Live Science+1.

But don’t worry—this eclipse is lighting up skies abroad:

  • In Asia and Western Australia, you'll see the entire totality—the rich red “Blood Moon” phase lasting around 82 minutes Wikipedia+8Space+8Star Walk+8.

  • In Europe and East Africa, expect at least partial visibility, with parts of the totality still catching your eye before moonset SYFY+6Time and Date+6Star Walk+6.

  • If you’re elsewhere (or cozying up indoors), you can still tune into livestreams, like the Virtual Telescope Project from Italy Live Science+1.

Energetically, What Happens During an Eclipse?

Eclipses are cosmic reset buttons. They bring endings, revelations, and energy shifts that can feel both exciting and unsettling. You may notice:

  • More vivid dreams

  • Restless energy or disrupted sleep

  • Big emotions rising up (for you or your pet)

  • A sense of things “shaking loose”

Animals, being highly sensitive, often mirror or amplify this energy. A dog may cling closer, a cat may hide, a horse may feel extra restless.

How to Prepare (for You + Your Animals)

Think of this as a week of gentle awareness—not a time to force or control. A few simple practices help ease the ride:

  • Ground Daily: Step barefoot on the earth or place your hand over your heart + belly.

  • Reiki Pause: Even 2–3 minutes of Reiki or mindful breath helps you (and your pet, if you share the moment).

  • Keep Routines Simple: Animals thrive on predictability; don’t overschedule.

  • Hydrate + Rest: Yes, for you and your furry friends. Water + naps are underrated medicine.

Self-Inquiry for Eclipse Week

Eclipses shine light on hidden truths. Here are a couple of prompts to guide your reflections:

  • What part of my life feels like it’s asking for release?

  • What story am I clinging to that no longer fits who I’m becoming?

Why This Matters for You + Your Animals

When your energy shifts, your animals feel it. And when they shift, you feel it back. Eclipse season is a reminder that we’re connected—nervous systems intertwined, hearts syncing in subtle ways. Supporting yourself with presence automatically supports them.

Gentle Reminders

You don’t need to do everything. Just stay aware, soften your schedule, and breathe. Trust that eclipses clear the way for what’s next.

So, remember —this Sept 7th Lunar Eclipse is more than a moon in shadow. It’s a cosmic nudge. A chance to release, reset, and realign—together with your animal companions.
