the Speed of Soul
We live in a culture addicted to urgency.
The email that must be answered now.
The text message waiting for a response.
The news cycle spinning faster than our nervous systems can keep up with.
But what if — just for today — you let it all go?
The Power of Pause
Reiki and meditation are practices of the pause. When you place your hands over your heart in self-Reiki or sit in stillness for a few minutes, you step out of the current of everyone else’s haste and back into your own rhythm.
This is where peace begins. In that pause, you stop being reactive and start being responsive. Instead of being swept up in other people’s timelines — your boss, your clients, your kids, the media — you return to yourself.
Responding Instead of Reacting
Reaction is fast, frazzled, and usually fueled by someone else’s agenda.
Response is steady, intentional, and aligned with who you truly are.
Daily Reiki practice and meditation train us to live in response. Over time, this becomes a natural rhythm: pausing, breathing, and choosing from clarity rather than compulsion.
Returning to Nature’s Pace
The truth is, you are a spiritual being having a human experience. Your soul was never designed to keep pace with pings and deadlines. Look to nature: the trees don’t rush to grow, rivers don’t hurry to flow, roses don’t bloom on demand.
When you let go of other people’s urgency, you return to the pace of nature — steady, grounded, alive.
“Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience.”
Just for Today…
So whisper to yourself:
Just for today, I let go of other people’s urgency.
Breathe into the pause. Feel the freedom of stepping out of the rush. And remember: life isn’t asking you to keep up. It’s inviting you to slow down to the speed of your soul.
